Department Profile

The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a world leader in the origination, distribution, and trading of equity, equity-linked, and equity-derivative securities. The Global Markets Group (GMG) is the offshoring arm of Morgan Stanley’s Sales & Trading businesses in India, supporting a wide range of functions across IED, including sales, trading, analytics, strats, and risk management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end settlement, listing, and reporting processes for structured products (e.g., notes, certificates, warrants), ensuring timely and accurate trade capture and settlement.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, trading, operations) and external stakeholders to ensure all trades are matched, settled, and reported correctly.

  • Prepare and deliver regular and ad hoc reporting, metrics, and analytics to support business decision-making and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive process automation and workflow optimization initiatives, leveraging technology (e.g., Excel, VBA, Python) to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

  • Prepare trade metrics and analytics for internal stakeholders.

  • File electronic trade documents and maintain deal folders for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Assist with the review of documentation relating to structured products and exchange-traded products (ETPs).

  • Support documentation for corporate actions or similar types of events.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and provide support to resolve trade breaks, reconciliation issues, document discrepancies, invoice processing, and other ad hoc requests.

Skills required

  • MBA / CA with 5–6 years of relevant experience.

  • In-depth understanding of equity or other asset-linked structured notes, warrants, certificates, trade lifecycles, and product mechanics will be preferred.

  • Experience in Derivatives/ Structured Products and/or Exchange Traded Products (not ETF business though).

  • Demonstrated experience in reporting, and metrics within a financial services environment. Experience in settlement and listing will be preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is a must; experience with VBA and Python is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to evolving business needs.

  • Proficiency in English is a must, both verbal and written.
