In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Maximize uptime for customers by performing accurate on-site diagnostics and completing preventative maintenance and moderately complex engine repairs efficiently—reducing repeat visits and minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experience through courteous, professional engagement—proactively anticipating needs, explaining findings and next steps clearly, and ensuring prompt, reliable service.
  • Execute quality repairs consistently by using specialized tools and following documented procedures, standards, and policies—improving first-time fix rates and warranty integrity.
  • Identify additional service opportunities (e.g., emerging component issues, maintenance gaps, parts needs), helping customers avoid future failures while supporting business growth.
  • Ensure safe, compliant operations by adhering to all HSE policies and site rules, maintaining a clean work area, and promptly reporting incidents or hazards—protecting people, assets, and the environment.
  • Maintain service readiness by keeping the service vehicle and tools clean, calibrated, and in optimal working order—enabling faster response times and higher quality workmanship.
  • Strengthen team effectiveness by escalating unresolved issues appropriately to senior technicians or supervisors and sharing learnings—speeding resolution and building collective expertise.
  • Grow technical capability continuously by completing required training and applying new skills in the field—expanding the range of repairs you can independently deliver and improving service throughput.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Diagnostic mastery & workflow discipline: Translate customer complaints into clear troubleshooting plans; use guided workflows, specialized mechanical/electronic tools, and diagnostic software to isolate faults; validate fixes by duplicating the original complaint; and document findings in business systems for payment and history.
  • Proficiency with electronic service tools: Know the available hardware/software tool suites; select and apply the right tools for maintenance and fault-finding; interpret outputs (fault codes, parameters, recommendations) to determine precise next steps for resolution.
  • Systems-thinking across engine interactions: Analyze how electrical and mechanical subsystems (exhaust, cooling, fuel, driveline, aftertreatment, controls, sensors, etc.) interact; apply service publications (Cummins/OEM) and accurate measurements to diagnose efficiently and correctly.
  • Quality repair, documentation, and escalation discipline: Execute repairs within standard times using proper tools and cleanliness standards; follow reuse guidelines to minimize customer cost; perform progressive damage checks to restore to pre-failure condition; capture complete service data in the system; and escalate unresolved technical issues promptly with full troubleshooting history for timely resolution.
