Job Details

We are seeking an Associate/VP to join our Equity Derivatives Trading desk in Sydney.

You will work closely with senior traders and sales to support pricing, execution, and risk management of equity derivatives transactions, while developing deeper product expertise and increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the pricing and execution of equity derivatives transactions, including options, swaps and structured equity products

  • Assist with real‑time risk management, including hedging activity, monitoring Greek risk and maximising P&L

  • Monitor equity market activity, corporate events and actions, volatility dynamics and macro events impacting the firm’s risk

  • Work closely with Equity & Equity Derivative Sales, Structuring, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Technology teams to support efficient execution and controls

  • Contribute to the enhancement of pricing tools, quantitative and analytical tools, risk models and desk processes

  • Assist the franchise with analysis and insights, desk notes and thought pieces

  • Manage the full trade lifecycle, ensuring accurate trade booking, confirmations and resolution of breaks

  • Ensure all trading activity complies with internal risk limits, policies and regulatory requirements

Experience / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline

Proven experience in equity derivatives trading, trading support, market‑making or a closely related front‑office role

Strong understanding of equity derivatives products

Solid quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret risk sensitivities and P&L drivers

High attention to detail with strong operational awareness in a trading environment

Proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, VBA or similar tools is advantageous

Ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced, market‑driven environment

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset
