DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Maintenance Support Specialist - Electrician to join our team specializing in Facilities for our Cummins Inc. facility in Maxton, NC

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Raise safety standards every day by proactively planning work with safety first, identifying hazards in reactive and preventive tasks, and modeling safe habits that reduce incidents and keep the team compliant.

Improve equipment reliability and uptime by learning to diagnose issues with test equipment and hand tools, quickly pinpointing root causes, and executing repairs within your capability to minimize downtime.

Drive smart, prioritized maintenance by using software and the building management system to track, assign, and sequence reactive, planned, preventive, and predictive work—ensuring the right tasks happen at the right time.

Strengthen cross‑functional execution by collaborating across trades and teams to solve problems, handle diverse site conditions (heat, cold, moisture, confined spaces), and keep operations moving smoothly.

Build future-ready skills through classes, on/off‑site training, and progress toward local certification—bringing fresh knowledge and problem‑solving techniques to continuous improvement projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Master emergency preparedness – Learn to identify risks, maintain emergency systems, and support plans for incidents like power outages, floods, or fires.

Build technical expertise – Develop skills in facilities maintenance and operations, including electrical systems, HVAC, and asset management tools, to ensure reliable and safe facility performance

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

Must meet the minimum educational requirements to start the apprenticeship or regional program. Must pass all related testing.

Experience:

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
