Cummins is looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) technician to join its team in Edmonton, AB.
In this role, you will have the following impacts :
- Maintain skills and knowledge required to perform job duties.
- Determine gaps within corporate HSE initiatives and local health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard through internal reporting processes.
- Work as a HSE resource and provide guidance to the site on reporting processes.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of hazard identification, incident investigation and risk assessments processes.
- Support closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Actively participate and lead incident investigation and reporting.
- Assist in maintenance of local HSE policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all applicable standard work, process documentation and quality procedures.
- Perform quality checks. Identifies and controls non-conforming material. T
- Participate actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following :
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- A two year University degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability or related field is an asset.
Experience:
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in health, safety and environment.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office suite and comfortable learning and using new platforms.
- Risk assessments experience.
- Training experience-be comfortable to speak in front of a crowd (in person or virtual).
- Time management skills.
Hourly pay is between 31.15$ and 46.73$ depending on experience.
About the role:
This position will provide on-site HSE support to the Edmonton Master Rebuild Center AND also provide regional training support for the North American Integrated Aftermarket MRC & Upfit network
Working hours are Monday-Friday 7am to 330pm but must also be able to work longer hours in case of an emergency or incident (investigation purposes).
