DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Performs skilled manufacturing activities to support business needs in a machine shop environment. Selects and operates appropriate tools, machinery and specialty equipment with limited guidance. Understands and follows safe working practices when operating industrial equipment and handling electricity or other energy sources. Ensures production efficiency, equipment reliability, and adherence to quality and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Follow all plant safety guidelines and promote continuous safety improvement.
- Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
- Comply with all HSE policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Use appropriate PPE and encourage peers to follow safe behaviors.
- Correct hazards within control and minimize environmental impact of operations.
- Actively participate in HSE and TPM-related training.
Quality
- Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship in all tasks.
- Support equipment uptime and assist in downtime failure analysis.
- Perform work using diagrams, sketches, manuals, and specifications with accuracy.
- Provide input to the Preventive Maintenance improvement system.
- Follow all process documentation and quality procedures.
- Raise issues proactively to reduce cost and quality risks.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
Delivery & Operations
- Maintain daily production targets during the assigned shift.
- Demonstrate strong competency in core machining and manufacturing skills.
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot machine shop equipment.
- Perform preventive, corrective, emergency, and predictive maintenance activities and document them accurately.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning.
- Support efforts to reduce manufacturing constraints and improve overall throughput.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with team members, support functions, and leadership.
- Partner with peer groups to solve problems and enhance process efficiency.
- Complete required training and engage in personal development aligned with business needs.
- Actively participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to improve quality, safety, material flow, and employee capability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- 4–5 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
- High school certificate or completion of secondary education (or equivalent experience) as per regulations.
- Licenses or certifications may be required based on export control or regulatory compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge / Technical Skills
- Adherence to plant safety guidelines and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to maintain daily shift production and coordinate with the production team.
- Strong understanding of cylinder block manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience working with machine shop tools, machining processes, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams, sketches, and technical documents.
Skills & Experience
- 4–5 years of hands-on machine shop experience, preferably in cylinder block operations or precision machining.
- Intermediate-level knowledge gained through education, training, or practical exposure in manufacturing.
- Ability to use measuring tools, testing instruments, and machining equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance understanding.
- Experience in continuous improvement, TPM, or lean manufacturing is desirable.
- Knowledge about Oracle transactions process.
