We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to provide leadership for manufacturing operations at the Fridley Plant. This position is based in Fridley, MN and is expected to be onsite to support the genset and switchgear product lines.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Provides manufacturing leadership and improvement focus in operations driving results, creating and monitoring measures, providing motivation, and setting expectations in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- The role will have direct accountability for site metrics across safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Manage, develop, mentor, and coach individual and collective talent to develop manufacturing and supply chain capability across the organization.
- Champions continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operation System and Functional Excellence direction by leveraging common processes, tools and information systems.
- Partners with internal and external functional stakeholders to maintain relationships to meet all customer and business requirements.
- Aligns with internal business partners to gain support and advocacy of enterprise manufacturing and supply chain initiatives.
- Reviews key performance indicators and operational trends to validate root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Intervenes to address supply chain failures as necessary.
- Prepares and manages an annual operating plan including expense and resources. Sets the aim for the organization and ensures individual work plans are consistent with supply chain initiatives.
- Responsible for ensuring Cummins values are present in the plant; this includes championing diversity, community involvement, and right environment initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, required.
- Previous experience of managing a large multi-tiered structure and strong budgetary experience is required.
