We are looking for an enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineering student to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Industrial Engineering business unit in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer 2026, this role is 100% site-based.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Using LEAN tools and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement project across the Manufacturing process
  • Planning, design, purchase and implementation of integrated manufacturing and assembly processes, managing different projects of varying sizes to successful conclusions
  • Compiling and presenting data on Key Performance Indicators for department scorecard
  • Manage engineering release process to introduce new parts/options
  • Develop and manage Power BI dashboards for the team
  • Review/develop assembly workstation documentation including assembly graphics using CREO/CAD

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • We are looking for a wide range of candidates studying towards a degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing/Controls Engineering or similar
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, and a keen willingness to learn
  • A good level of IT skills including the use of Microsoft applications, Minitab experience would also be beneficial although is not essential
  • Experience with CREO/CAD would also be beneficial, although is not essential.
