DESCRIPTION

This entry-level / early career engineering service–focused role develops, maintains, and supports information technologies, functional excellence initiatives, and product information change management that enable engineering and technical practitioners to work efficiently and effectively. The role supports Global Systems Engineering (GSE) by ensuring documentation quality, data integrity, and reliable information flow across enterprise systems such as Seismic, PowerSuite, and related platforms, while adhering to standardized policies, processes, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities Technical Information & Data Governance

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across multiple systems, documents, and reporting platforms.
  • Maintain version control, documentation standards, and standardized naming conventions for all data assets.
  • Apply and support information processes including Engineering Standard Work (ESW), Value Package Introduction (VPI), product change management, and technical information repositories.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of recurring data quality issues and implement preventive actions to improve long-term data accuracy.
  • Own problem resolution for moderately complex components, systems, subsystems, or services, with increasing complexity as experience grows.

Systems & Tools Support

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of how content and data are stored, structured, and displayed within Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Support accurate data flow across PLM tools (e.g., Windchill), CRMs (Salesforce), marketing platforms, and enterprise data repositories.
  • Utilize analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau to support dashboards, insights, and decision-making.
  • Stay current on system updates, features, and best practices; provide training, documentation, and guidance to maximize tool adoption and effectiveness.

Customer Service & Request Fulfillment

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data- and system-related inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and professional support.
  • Manage service requests throughout their lifecycle using established processes and tools to meet service level expectations.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, user guides, and knowledge resources to improve data literacy for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Track and analyze service metrics (response times, resolution rates, user satisfaction) to drive continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical practitioners to gather inputs, clarify requirements, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Identify inefficiencies in data processes and workflows and propose scalable, sustainable improvements.
  • Contribute to data quality and process improvement initiatives that enhance accessibility, usability, and business value.
  • Coordinate work activities of technicians or temporary student employees as required, with minimal direct people management.
  • Contribute effectively to team goals and continuously build proficiency in competencies critical to success in the role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field is required.
  • A relevant post-graduate (Master’s) degree may be required for select roles.
  1. Responsibility: Support GSE in maintaining documentation and data integrity within Seismic and PowerSuite - ideally someone with background in data governance/management or content strategy
