DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing in Rocky Mount, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead projects that align manufacturing processes with safety, product, and business goals
- Apply advanced manufacturing principles to improve equipment efficiency and reliability
- Drive continuous improvement using proven tools and Cummins standards
- Develop and implement manufacturing standards and best practices across teams
- Influence key stakeholders through clear communication and strategic guidance
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to execute high-impact initiatives
- Coach and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to foster alignment and growth
- Champion technical excellence and innovation in manufacturing practices at Cummins
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals
- Communicate clearly and adapt messaging to different audiences
- Champion health and safety practices to foster a safe work environment
- Interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings to support process design
- Select appropriate equipment that meets manufacturing and project needs
- Use digital tools to simulate and optimize manufacturing processes
- Apply manufacturing knowledge to implement process and equipment changes
- Document processes clearly to ensure consistency and standardization
- Design tools and fixtures that meet functional and manufacturing requirements
- Value diverse perspectives to enhance innovation and team performance
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost and improve quality
- Apply ergonomic principles to design safe and efficient workstations
- Solve problems using structured, data-driven methodologies
- Design operator workstations that balance safety, cost, quality, and efficiency
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:

- Support during deployments for infant care support of line changes
- Design and coordinate process and equipment changes
- Support the team in problem solving and troubleshooting
