DESCRIPTION

The Team Manager – Supply Risk Management & Analysis is an operational and strategic leadership role responsible for proactively identifying, analyzing, and mitigating supply base risks to ensure continuity of supply, cost stability, and supplier performance for Cummins. This role leads a team while also contributing individually to complex analysis, supplier capacity management, and cross-functional decision making across the end-to-end supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute supply base risk management strategies to protect continuity of supply, margins, and brand reputation.
  • Execute complex buying and sourcing strategies aligned with material buying plans and demand forecasts.
  • Analyze supplier capacity, performance, market, and commodity data and present insights to Procurement and Supply Chain leadership.
  • Drive supplier capacity planning, delivery assurance, and issue resolution initiatives.
  • Act as a communication conduit between Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, and global suppliers.
  • Prepare and present improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior Procurement and Sourcing leadership.
  • Support engineering releases and change management processes impacting suppliers and supply continuity.
  • Ensure consistent application of procurement policies, procedures, tools, and ethical standards.
  • Improve visibility of procurement KPIs, drive cycle time reduction, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead and coach a global team, contributing to capability building in analytics, project management, and problem solving.
  • Build strong, effective supplier relationships aligned with Cummins business objectives.
  • Proactively manage conflicts and complex stakeholder interactions to drive timely outcomes.

  • Supplier Performance Management: Drives continuous improvement through structured performance management.
  • Supply Base Risk Management: Proactively identifies and mitigates supply risks to protect continuity, margins, and reputation.
  • Problem Solving: Applies structured, data-driven methods to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Project Management: Delivers projects by balancing scope, schedule, resources, and outcomes.
  • Values Differences: Promotes inclusion by leveraging diverse perspectives and cultures.

  • Location: IOC
  • Work Mode: Hybrid
  • Shift Timing: Afternoon Shift (12:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST)

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (required).
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience in procurement, supply chain, supplier management, or related roles.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain management and supply risk drivers.
  • Experience in supplier capacity management, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on supply continuity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven leadership experience with both people management and individual contribution.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict management, and decision-making skills.
  • Hands-on experience with problem solving and project management methodologies.
