Position Overview
The IFET Field Director serves as a strategic leader and field partner on the Integrated Firm Field Engagement Team (IFET). This individual is responsible for partnering closely with Market Executive teams, workplace business development partners, and SCM to deliver the integrated firm to both individual wealth and private wealth clients. The Field Director will educate clients and advisors, identify and activate prospects, and unlock business opportunities across all non-personal wealth capabilities of the firm, ensuring seamless delivery and activation of the firm’s institutional offerings.
Purpose & Impact
The Field Director leads from the front, ensuring Financial Advisors (FAs) and Market Executive Teams are equipped to deliver the full firm to clients. As a trusted partner, this role helps the field recognize and activate existing institutional opportunities, fostering a culture of collaboration, education, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with Market Executive teams, workplace business development partners, and SCM to execute strategic priorities and deliver integrated solutions to individual and private wealth clients.
Educate clients and advisors about the firm’s non-personal wealth capabilities and institutional offerings.
Identify and activate new and existing clients and prospect business opportunities, driving engagement across the firm’s diverse capabilities.
Champion the firm’s integrated strategy by aligning field execution with enterprise priorities.
Develop and drive business plans that reflect regional goals and field realities.
Lead with intentionality—ensuring every engagement is purposeful and outcome-driven.
Activate advisors by conducting targeted 1x1 sessions to uncover opportunities, guide solution delivery, and deepen institutional thinking.
Execute the Full Market Engagement Model:
Market Strategy Partnership: Meet with the Market Executive Leadership Team to review institutional opportunities and co-develop a tailored market strategy.
Field Activation: Share relevant data and insights, and actively participate in both Zoom and in-person market meetings to reinforce strategic priorities.
Advisor Engagement: Conduct targeted 1x1 sessions with advisors to uncover opportunities, activate institutional capabilities, and guide solution delivery.
Conduct monthly follow-ups with the Market Executive Team to review progress, refine strategy, and ensure continued momentum.
Partner deeply with Market Executives to embed institutional thinking into local strategy.
Serve as a connector—assembling cross-divisional “dream teams” to support complex client needs.
Roll out firmwide initiatives with precision, ensuring field adoption and impact.
Lead deep-dive book reviews and segmentation efforts to surface growth opportunities.
Facilitate market calls, strategy sessions, and advisor forums that drive institutional activation.
Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in financial services or related fields (5–7 years).
Deep understanding of field dynamics and institutional solutions.
Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills.
Ability to operate with clarity and purpose in evolving environments.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $205,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
