Position Summary:
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Investment Advisory Business, Consulting Group, is industry-leading with over $2 Trillion in assets under management. The Advisory Business Development and Communications team is responsible for enhancing the experience of financial advisors by supporting their use of advisory business technology and improvements, as well as effectively communicating any significant product or platform updates to both advisors and their clients. As the business continues to evolve to stay on the forefront of the industry, we are seeking a Business Development and Communications Specialist to focus on the support and communications of the platform, product and service enhancements launched within our advisory business. The ideal candidate will excel in managing multiple projects, collaborating with cross function teams, and delivering innovative solutions that meet our client’s investment needs.  

Major Functions (Principal Duties and Responsibilities)  

  • Collaborate across the department to create and execute on communications for both financial advisors and clients. 
  • Execute on strategic initiatives related to efficiencies including data requests, tracking transparency, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on platform enhancements, field engagement, and marketing.
  • Lead and manage marketing and branding initiatives, including the CG newsletter and 3DR site, to enhance brand visibility and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Partner with LRC and Business on regulatory updates that need to be socialized with financial advisors and clients.
  • Engage and respond to field feedback, questions, and requests.
  • Provide RP24 approval capabilities to ensure all communications adhere to firm and regulatory standards
  • Provide ongoing support and training to Financial Advisor teams to enhance their understanding of the programs available in the Investment Advisory Business.
  • Identify & coordinating process improvements with internal and external partners
  • Prepare and present to senior management and stakeholders on trends and opportunities for growth.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements (Job Specifications)

  • 3+ years of investment related experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Ability to execute and manage multiple priorities with attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with multiple audiences
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree with business related coursework.  
  • Series 24 (or must be completed within 3 months)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
