Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of electrical systems, utilities, and manufacturing equipment across the plant. This role supports preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays a key role in achieving safety, quality, and productivity goals by maintaining compliance with standards, optimizing equipment performance, and supporting team capability development.

Key Responsibilities 1. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety hazards, incidents, and near misses.
  • Use appropriate PPE and participate in safety training.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Ensure safe working practices while handling electrical and industrial equipment.

2. Electrical Maintenance & Equipment Support

  • Perform electrical repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Ensure equipment availability and reliability to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.

3. Equipment Reliability & Performance

  • Support equipment uptime and conduct downtime/failure analysis.
  • Identify recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Contribute to reliability improvement initiatives and maintenance optimization.
  • Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.

4. Quality & Process Compliance

  • Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.
  • Perform quality inspections and ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Work as per diagrams, manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Raise issues to minimize quality risks and cost exposure.

5. Continuous Improvement & Operational Support

  • Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints.
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities such as TPM.
  • Schedule maintenance activities in alignment with production needs.
  • Solve technical problems and improve operational efficiency.

6. Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional teams.
  • Support training and development of junior team members.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Contribute to team goals and continuous improvement culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronics, or related field.
  • Additional certifications in electrical maintenance or automation (preferred).
  • May require compliance-related licensing (e.g., export control regulations).

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and automation issues.
  • Understanding of factory automation and control systems.
  • Basic machine programming and process optimization knowledge.
  • Familiarity with electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Requires relevant work experience in electrical maintenance or manufacturing environments.
  • Intermediate level knowledge gained through training or on-the-job experience.
  • Experience in equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and reliability improvement is preferred.
  • Exposure to industrial automation and manufacturing processes is an added advantage.
