Job Summary:

Leads and coordinates engineering functional technology needs, may lead a team of associates that supports engineering information systems and end users.

Key Responsibilities:

Develops, updates and administers department databases, wikis, websites, systems, security status and technical libraries; assists with the migration from one technology platform to another technology platform; participates in the engineering application certification process. Monitors and audits function-related activities. Aligns engineering department training and communication process; defines and maintains workstations used specifically for the technologies administered. Provides engineering support and administration expertise for databases, technologies, web sites and technical libraries; ability to troubleshoot engineering system functionality and interfaces; participates in the development of technologies, websites, wikis or databases, develop web and wiki pages. Ensures installation, set-up and technical support for new and existing systems; provides global support for data maintenance; manages global data and supports systems. Coordinates related financial activities such as tracking charges and charge backs; interfaces with financial systems; analyzes, compares, and reports related financial data. Initiates, develops, leads improvement processes; actively participates in self- and team audits and resulting process improvements. Develops and conducts training programs. Understands the structure of the organization and maintains a strong network across departments; draws on network to answer questions, solve problems, and successfully execute responsibilities. Performs other duties as required.

Engineering Software/Hardware Evaluation - Evaluates Engineering Software/Hardware according to engineering users' needs to provide CBSIT with guidance for selecting the Engineering tools needed.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Key Responsibilities:

▪ Engineering support is required for Aftermarket Field Technical queries, raised by field engineers, Sales team, dealers, distributors etc. Position is based at Aftermarket India Parts Distribution Centre (IPDC), Phaltan and on a day-to-day basis to work very closely with CFT members from Field (Service Engg. / Sales), Quality, SQI & Purchasing for below cases (but not limited to),

− Technical query resolution

− Alternate part analysis, proposal and field support

− Clarifying drawing specification query resolution (service engineers, dealers, distributors, suppliers, SQI, Purchasing or Inspectors)

− Handle Engineering deviations

− Support Drawings unavailability cases, clarifications on drawing the specifications etc.

− Legacy / Obsolete parts query support

− Understanding & clarifying queries related to Engineering standards, references on drawings or details of BOM

− For parts involving Service as well as Base Engine teams, connect with base engine team for getting clarification & concluding on decisions etc. (alignment)

− Support PPAP activity on need basis

Skill Set / Other Requirements:

▪ Diploma / Graduate Engineers with practical / field hands on experience

▪ Good Engine domain knowledge – including critical engine parts & sub-assemblies

▪ Ability to interpret drawing & related details like CofC’s, limits, fits, tolerances (GD&T) etc.

▪ New Product Development process knowledge

▪ Validation experience (test/rig/field)

▪ Aware of APQP principles

▪ Basic Manufacturing process knowledge for various engine parts

▪ Understanding of validation task for parts development

▪ Understanding of basic Material properties

▪ Be able to assess CFT stakeholder needs & provide engineering solution

▪ Take ownership of Engineering activities and provide end to end solution

▪ Open to travel to support business requirement, on need basis
