At Stryker, we are looking for a talented, highly motivated sales leader who will be responsible for driving the Extremities business in the Northern Europe region (Benelux & Nordics).

Reporting to the Senior Business Unit Director of Trauma & Extremities, you will be part of a high calibre, achievement-driven sales team who shares a strong belief in helping our customers to improve patient care through the use of our products. You will lead your team with full accountability for sales performance, turnover and cost control, ensuring excellent customer service while driving the acquisition of new customers.

What you will do:

  • In your new role, you will start with a familiarization phase to learn about our portfolio and build relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of direct and indirect reports: you will coach/develop your team to achieve their full potential and promote an environment that fosters engagement and individual growth. Here, you will also act as a developer of people, creating a future pipeline of talent for Stryker.

  • Support and drive your team strategically and tactically to accelerate business through the Extremities portfolio.

  • Manage P&L responsibility of the business unit (BU).

  • Develop and execute the annual marketing plan of the BU.

  • Meet or exceed the annual sales revenue target as defined in the division budget.

  • You will run a profitable business. The expectation is that Regional Sales Managers and Sales teams in your organization will meet margin expectations by implementing an appropriate pricing policy to get sales in line with sales revenue target as well as meet margin expectation as defined in the annual budget.

  • The Business Unit Manager is expected to meet & exceed target for operating income.

  • Work closely with regional leadership to set and execute the franchise strategy with emphasis on providing differentiation which grows Stryker’s market share.

  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and then rolled up into Europe.

  • Manage key customer relationships (existing and new), retaining and growing the business.

  • Understand the value drivers of the business and identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share.

  • Collaborate with the other Business Unit Managers within the BU. To facilitate cross divisional work, you will collaborate with Regional/National Sales Managers in other franchises – representing the BU in providing innovative customer offerings.

  • Closely support and collaborate with enabling functions to ensure that policies, procedures and a smooth order to cash process is maintained – and our customers receive the highest levels of service.

What you need:

Required:

  • Degree or equivalent.

  • 10+ years overall Commercial experience, including solid experience in industries such as MedTech, Biotech, Pharma or related.

  • A background in commercial leadership positions such as Division/Business Unit Leader, Regional Sales Manager, National Sales Manager or related.

  • Experience within direct sales is required.

  • Experience in delivering market share growth and financial commitments.

  • Experience in building and executing on a marketing budget and plan.

  • Demonstrated success in building, managing, motivating, and developing strong sales teams. This includes acumen in setting sales coverage and leveraging territory coverage and customer focus.

  • Demonstrated ability to build engagement and leverage performance management systems to reach business objectives; including goal setting, performance planning, coaching, feedback and performance reviews.

  • Strong commercial/financial acumen; including demonstrated record of (over)achieving organizational goals (e.g., sales quota, growth quota, sales, P&L, engagement).

  • Strong strategic-thinking, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build relationships, excellent collaboration and cross-functional influencing skills & teamwork.

  • Hands-on approach, with a ‘can-do’ attitude: you thrive in fast-paced environments.

  • You hold a valid driver’s license as this position involves customer interactions and sales support in the region.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).

Preferred:

  • Orthopaedics/anatomy knowledge is not mandatory, but would be an advantage.
