Job Details

The Bid Manager’s role is to co-ordinate our response to customer tenders and contract opportunities, with the overall aim to develop and grow the business. This person will work with the rest of the Bid Team and the Sales Team to secure new contracts that are within the scope of SoftwareOne's capabilities.

 

This person will work primarily on Public Sector opportunities, including frameworks and mini competitions. They will also coordinate bids from start to finish, including the use and management of pre-existing content, while being expected to adapt and produce new responses based on customer requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To monitor and filter potential sources of contract opportunities, for example procurement portals, identifying tenders suitable for the business to respond to.
  • To track each opportunity from Bid/No Bid decision through to submission and award.
  • To identify suitable opportunities and work with colleagues to establish a Bid/No Bid decision.
  • To co-ordinate bid completion, working with multiple parties including internal colleagues and external partners.
  • To create, edit, and proof content in preparation for bid submissions. 
  • To contribute to commercial decisions and the company’s value offering based on previous tender outcomes
  • To review completed bids prior to submission, highlighting gaps in bid content or issues that could negatively affect tender scores.
  • To develop, store, and distribute content that can be used within bids and proposals, working with colleagues to research and organise bid content. 
  • To develop new working practices that could streamline the bids function, improving its quality and efficiency. 
  • To work with the SoftwareOne Global Bid Team, sharing content and supporting international bids where applicable.
  • To review outcomes from submitted tenders, collating and recognising trends in scoring and feedback in order to support ongoing improvement in bid content.
  • To fulfil other appropriate tasks that may arise in the development of business through the bid function.
  • Must have a technical understanding of the cloud solutions and should be able to pitch the same to the customers.
