We are looking for a talented Technical Trainer Instructor-Senior to join our team specializing in training for our corporate unit in Mississauga, ON.

Job Summary:

Provides high-quality technical training delivery on Cummins products and systems. Delivers technical training to distributor, dealer, and customer service personnel to enable technician efficiency, repair quality and customer satisfaction. Provides technical support as required.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Anticipate and forecast training demand to ensure the organization has the right technical capability at the right time, aligning training plans with evolving business needs.
  • Deliver high‑quality technical training and support that equips technicians and service personnel to diagnose, repair, and use systems and tools effectively.
  • Build and maintain deep subject‑matter expertise through train-the-trainer sessions and keep all training materials accurate, current, and aligned with product and process updates.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness by analyzing participant feedback and field performance to strengthen future sessions and close skill gaps.
  • Drive continuous improvement by contributing to initiatives that enhance training processes, tools, and service capability across the organization.
  • Maintain accurate technical training records and report on service capability to support compliance, workforce planning, and operational decision‑making.
  • Customize and adapt training programs to meet the needs of different audiences, products, and service environments, ensuring relevance and practical application.
  • Develop and refine technical presentations that clearly communicate complex information and support consistent, high‑quality learning experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Act with urgency and purpose by approaching new training needs, classroom challenges, and shifting technician skill gaps with high energy, responsiveness, and a readiness to take on tough situations.
  • Communicate with clarity across diverse audiences by tailoring explanations, demonstrations, and training materials to CSSNA, dealer, customer, and end‑user technicians with different backgrounds, learning styles, and levels of experience.
  • Drive results in the classroom and the field by ensuring technicians leave training with skills they can apply immediately, improving diagnostic accuracy, repair quality, and overall service capability.
  • Deliver training that inspires and aligns by presenting a clear vision of Cummins’ products, service expectations, and technical standards that motivates technicians to perform at a higher level.
  • Model accountability and discipline by preparing thoroughly, maintaining accurate training records, meeting training schedules, and holding learners—and yourself—to high standards of performance and follow‑through.
  • Build trust through authenticity and expertise by leveraging your five years of Cummins technical experience, demonstrating integrity, and creating a learning environment where technicians feel respected and supported.
  • Navigate organizational dynamics effectively by understanding how CSSNA, dealers, customers, and internal teams operate, allowing you to plan, align, and deliver training that meets business needs and fits within broader service strategies.
  • Adapt your training approach in real time by reading the room, adjusting pacing or methods, modifying presentations, and using Microsoft Office tools to keep content relevant, engaging, and accessible to every learner. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university or equivalent technical experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Intermediate level of relevant work experience required, including experience in service.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position will provide in-person training on HMLD products to a variety of service technicians. The student base will be comprised of CSSNA Technicians, Dealer Technicians, Customer Technicians and end user technicians.
  • Microsoft Office Experience (PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe)
  • Minimum 5 years of Cummins Technical Experience
  • Self Disciplined
  • Candidate will be required to travel.

Ontario Pay Transparency Act

  • The annual salary for this position is $81600 – $122000
  • This role includes benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, pension plan) starting on your first day. It does include variable compensation of 8%
  • This posting is for 1 backfill vacancy.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
