DESCRIPTION

Cummins is looking for a diesel mechanic to join their team in Calgary as an In-shop diesel technician.

In this role you will have the following impacts :

  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines
  • Assist more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop
  • Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Red seal certification (Heavy duty mechanics or Truck and transport) is mandatory.
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Customer service experience
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Natural gas engines experience would be an asset

Successful candidate must be able to travel to the USA on occasion

About the role :

  • You will be working on city buses, oil and gas equipment, farm equipment, OFF road equipment and ON road equipment
  • This position will require, on occasion, to assist technicians on the road.
  • Monday to Friday 8 hour days
  • Cummins offers benefits day 1
