The Senior Data Steward, Master Data plays a key role in managing customer data as a strategic business asset across all Thomson Reuters business units. This position is responsible for gathering information requirements, entering, maintaining, and monitoring core data to ensure alignment with company data governance policies and data quality standards.
In this role, the Senior Data Steward ensures that all master data is accurately loaded and maintained, working closely with business and technical subject matter experts to provide meaningful input to project teams and ensure master data is properly captured and utilized. The steward also supports the broader Master Data Management team in developing procedures for detecting and resolving data quality issues as defined by the Data Governance team.
A significant part of this role involves the ongoing, in-depth evaluation of data quality, identifying anomalies and discrepancies, and applying subject matter expertise to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions. The Senior Data Steward, Master Data is additionally responsible for building and maintaining deep expertise across one or more data domains, with a strong focus on continuously improving existing data management processes, procedures, and operational protocols.
About the Role:
In this role as a Senior Data Steward, Master Data you will:
Manages the customer data content on MDM platform via the customer data model
Monitors, validates, and executes data creation and change requests in data hub in an accurate and timely manner
Develop and provide expertise on one or more data domains (primarily customer and contact domains)
Manage and control risks associated with their respective data domains
Proactively monitor and control data quality
Support the continuous improvement of master data management processes
Proactively manages the customer domain metadata within the Enterprise Master Data Catalog
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures around data attributes
Ensures new data elements are not duplications of existing core data elements
Ensures timely inactivation of obsolete data elements
Works with business and technical process owners to help troubleshoot data issues
Works with business and technical owners in defining standard operating procedures, process flows and related documentation for all enterprise master data
Supports the development of projects to ensure master data related items are addressed according to the established standards
Executes data cleansing, data enrichment and testing cycles for system upgrades and projects
About You:
You’re fit for the role of Senior Data Steward, Master Data if your background includes:
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years in a master data application role and/or business analytics/analysis
Experience in data management & manipulation
Experience working with virtual team members in different locations globally
Demonstrable capabilities in authoring and managing documentation such as Business Requirements Documents
Experience in translating business requirements to technical specifications
Familiarity with quality management methodologies (Root Cause Analysis)
Effective communication skills - In both written and oral forms with a competence in presenting in a professional and influential manner
Results oriented mindset - Delivering on objectives establishing a reputation for high performance and customer satisfaction
Relationship management - Proficiency in effectively managing new and existing relationships to meet the financial and business goals of the organization
Ability to work confidentially and responsibly at all levels within an organization, having access to sensitive information
Project management/organizational skills - The ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands for limited resources in a dynamic business environment
Ability to reason and think logically, analyze problems proactively and escalate situations as appropriate while responding to changing demands, priorities, procedures and technology
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
Experience/knowledge of SQL, SAP/S4 HANA, Alteryx, Business Objects, Salesforce, and data warehousing a plus
