The Compression Systems Engineering Team has an opening for a Senior Structures Engineer with a specialty in aerospace work. This position will be part of the Tinker AFB Engine Life Management Team supporting the Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT’s) responsible for Military Fan and High Compressor hardware. As a Structures Engineer you be an integral part of this Team supporting the engine overhaul process.  This position is a key role within the CIPT as it provides a direct engineering link with our domestic and foreign military customers.

What You Will Do

• Work with the onsite MRO representative of the CIPT supporting engine/hardware investigations and dispositions.
• Utilize finite element analysis and classical methods to structurally assess the residual fatigue life, and damage tolerance of compression system components.
• Participate as the structure’s representative on multi-discipline teams to provide solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight.
• Support monitoring and trending of fielded hardware health identifying opportunities and structure evaluation scope for limit updates, Component Improvement Program (CIP) and repair tasks activities as well as provide assistance to Customer Support Engineering (CSE) and base personnel with field support, quality issues and logistics planning.
• Experience in customer-facing role serving as Customer Relationship Manager

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years’ of relevant experience OR
• Advanced degree with 3+ years’ of experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in Engineering, Operations, Overhaul, and/or Program Management in the gas turbine industry
• Demonstrated leadership skills; direct supervisory experience
• Excellent communication & collaboration skills and the ability to function across a wide range of disciplines and management levels.
• 5+ years Structures experience
• Possess strong communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
• A working knowledge of ANSYS, P&W Quality Systems, configuration management process.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)
Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products. 
 

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition

. 

Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
