Job Summary:
As the Operations Leader, you will manage the MDC outbound operation performance, ensuring excellence in delivery, cost, quality, and safety. This role involves leading and liaising with cross-functional teams for both CMI and the 3PL Warehousing service provider, ensuring the 3PL provider meets all contractual obligations. You will regularly review MDC outbound metrics and develop recovery plans if any metrics fall short of targets. Additionally, you will work closely with Marketing, COM, and inbound teams to provide the best possible service to our customers.

- Provide operations leadership for warehouse, transportation, and packaging operations.
- Drive results by creating and monitoring performance measures.
- Set and uphold expectations in safety, quality, production, and cost.
- Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with customers, suppliers, shop floor, stakeholders, and staff.
- Planning & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for Parts Distribution Center operations.
- Supply Chain Management:
- Manage and develop supply chain capability.
- Work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.
- Ensure individual work plans align with supply chain initiatives.
- Values & Culture:
- Champion Cummins values, including diversity, community involvement, and right environment initiatives.
- Daily Operations:
- Manage daily operations across functions to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement projects aligned with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence.
- Leverage common processes, tools, and information systems.
- Corporate Initiatives:
- Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives.
- Lead cross Business Unit planning processes to ensure intra-company alignment.
- Process Development:
- Create common supply chain processes and procedures through collaborative business partner relationships.
- Problem Solving:
- Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically.
- Develop, understand, and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze operational trends and develop corrective action plans.
- Address supply chain failures promptly to ensure operational stability; escalate as appropriate.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage an annual operating plan, including expense resources and capital.
- Staff Management:
- Manage, coach, and develop staff.
- Work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

- Skilled in evaluating and selecting appropriate transportation modes and equipment types by lane through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping methods (balancing cost, quality, and time).
Trade Knowledge Application:
- Applies knowledge of relevant trade regulations to company processes and systems to minimize trade risks and costs.
Warehouse Operations:
- Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.
Project Management:
- Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule, and resources for projects. Ensures results and impacts from temporary efforts are fully realized.
Supply Chain Knowledge:
- Influences and explains the multi-disciplined and end-to-end integration of the flow of information, products, and services to achieve desired results for the end customer. Balances the tensions of inventory, cost, and delivery within the first-fit or aftermarket business segments.
Values Differences:
- Recognizes and values the different perspectives and cultures that contribute to an organization. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related subject required. MBA preferred. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Moderate level of relevant work experience required.

- Manage MDC outbound operation performance, including delivery, cost, quality and safety.
- Leading and liaising with across functional teams for both CMI and the 3PL Warehousing service provider and holding the 3PL provider to the contractual obligations.
- Regularly review MDC Outbound metrics and build recovery plans if any metrics miss the target.
