Senior Strategic Planning Manager

We create and deliver an aligned, dedicated marketing strategy to fuel each Expedia Group brand's success. Since our travelers interact with us through our brands, we have a brand focus in our marketing, while leveraging the scale and efficiency we’ve built in functional expertise.

Expedia Group is seeking a passionate and driven professional to join our Traveler Engagement and Loyalty (TEaL) organization. As a Senior Strategic Planning Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence and aligning strategic initiatives with organizational priorities.

This role sits at the intersection of Program Management, CRM, and Strategic Planning/Innovation; leading the definition, planning, and execution of strategic projects, partnering with cross functional teams. Our team focuses on enabling growth and efficiency by translating strategy into actionable plans, fostering collaboration, and optimizing processes to deliver measurable impact across the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead quarterly and annual planning methods to align initiatives with organizational priorities and strategic objectives

  • Translate high-level strategy into actionable plans with clear milestones, owners, and success metrics

  • Support the planning and development of growth strategies and goals for specific business programs and LOBs (e.g., Hotels), ensuring alignment with broader company objectives

  • Develop and execute short-term operational plans that break down strategic goals into daily and weekly workflows

  • Ensure resources (budget, personnel, tools) enable and support core business objectives and efficient delivery

  • Collaborate in establishing performance standards and KPIs to monitor progress and drive operational excellence

  • Coordinate across teams to eliminate silos and improve collaboration

  • Identify and mitigate risks, implementing contingency plans to ensure business continuity

  • Design, optimize, and scale operational methods; leverage data-driven insights, automation, and workflow optimization to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times

  • Champion operational transformation by introducing advanced tools and best practices that support scalability and compliance

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through structured problem-solving and performance measurement

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance visibility, influence prioritization, and drive alignment across the organization

  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's degree

  • Adept problem solver who supports a test-and-learn and data-driven decision-making culture

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Skilled at creating compelling narratives using data and insights for broad audiences

  • Proven ability to scope and deliver strategic projects with diverse stakeholders

  • Developing subject matter expertise and recognized for insights on specific topics with the ability to translate them into action

  • Strong understanding of business processes and financial impact of decisions

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $155,000.00 to $217,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $248,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
