Your Team
Under the Supervision of Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day planning, operation and problem solving so that the team delivers the highest level of excellent services along with ensuring the accurate and timely processing of trades, maintaining data integrity, and supporting operational workflows across fixed income and equity SMA portfolios.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the Team’s Performance and assures us that the Team functions in accordance with the SMA guidelines.
Your Role
- Assign, Monitor, Validate & Execute trade activity across Fixed Income SMAs & Equity, including corporate bonds, municipals, treasuries, and structured products.
- Assign work to the associates and senior associates and facilitate clearance of the workflow in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure the necessary data is prepared/updated in IDS Dashboards used by the Top Management.
- Proactively contribute ideas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and report the cash and position discrepancies in a timely manner to the trading desk.
- Research/Resolve of various corporate actions discrepancies like stock split, Refunding, spin-off, bonus etc.
- Identify & resolve individual account discrepancies accurately and efficiently, to ensure systems are ready for trading.
- Ensure all the transitions run smoothly by coordinating with the Onsite team.
- Ensure the process procedures are reviewed & up to date on a quarterly basis.
- Proactively identify potential operational risks, suggest mitigation strategy to manager and lead the implementation of the agreed upon mitigation strategy.
- Review and Ensure all the e-mails in the Global mailbox were handled correctly and accurately.
- Responsible for helping/Guiding the team members to prioritize the work and to do the Job on their own.
- Foster a communicative and collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrate visibility and leadership in process management and team building.
- Must be willing to work full-time night shifts to support global operations - USA.
- Flexibility to provide support during overtime and off-hours as business needs arise.
- Ensure smart controls are in place for all activities (existing & new) to have 100% accuracy. Ensure process documents are up-to-date and get the sign off as when required
- Ensure effective and updated DR plans (BIA & BCP plan) in place and test regularly.
- Communicate with Traders, Client Service teams, Brokers, and Custodians to investigate and resolve trade-related queries through Calling them proactively.
- Ensure all the SMA activities are processed & delivered accurately in a timely manner.
- Handling escalations on a proactive basis in Reconciliation and Trade Support areas and to ensure to resolve them at earliest and form guardrails.
- Responsible for helping the team members to prioritize the work and ensure seamless service delivery daily.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to discuss updates, statistics, and other information.
- Monitor workflow and productivity for respective group members and take appropriate action to ensure targeted levels of production.
- Participate and exchange information in regular meetings / conference calls with onsite Team, Vendors and other Teams in the company to discuss process related items
- Monitor attendance and manage leaves.
- Report to the Manager at regular intervals on the status of deliverables and through proper intervention, take corrective action whenever required.
- Manage the output of reportees ensuring qualitative, timely output and managing performance related appraisals and issues under direct supervision from the reporting Manager.
The Experience You Bring
- 10+ Years Investment Operations Industry Experience
- Excellent Knowledge of Global Investment Products is required
- Strong understanding of SMA processes and the full trade lifecycle.
- Proven Team player and Team leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Open-minded, flexible, and willing to listen to other people’s opinions.
- Excellent Understanding of Quality and process improvement concepts
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, and other MS Office tools.
Academic requirements
- MBA or any other Professional qualification with Finance as Major Specialization.
