Job Summary
We are looking for a talented Off Shift Maintenance Engineer for our location in Rocky Mount, NC . In this role, you will provide direct leadership and oversight of the maintenance team during off‑shift operations, with full responsibility for maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and safe execution of work on 2nd and 3rd shift. You will lead and coach maintenance personnel, ensuring preventative maintenance processes are executed effectively and equipment is available, capable, and production‑ready. The role partners closely with Facilities, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to identify issues, troubleshoot root causes, and resolve equipment problems in a timely and sustainable manner. You will also support spare parts and indirect material management through the computerized maintenance management system, contribute maintenance expertise to equipment design and engineering evaluations, and champion a strong safety culture by integrating safe work practices into daily operations. This position plays a critical role in sustaining operational continuity, driving reliability, and ensuring consistent manufacturing performance during off‑shift hours.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and support maintenance teams by setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and promoting a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Employee Coaching & Development: Coach line employees on foundational maintenance procedures to strengthen technical capability, consistency, and equipment care across shifts.
- Cross‑Functional Problem Solving: Partner closely with Facilities, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to identify issues, troubleshoot root causes, and drive timely equipment repair and resolution.
- Maintenance Planning & Execution: Lead preventative maintenance processes to ensure equipment availability, operational readiness, and sustained production capability.
- Inventory & Asset Management: Maintain spare parts and indirect materials inventory through effective use of a computerized maintenance management system, ensuring parts availability while controlling costs.
- Equipment Reliability & Uptime: Proactively address equipment performance issues to minimize downtime and support manufacturing throughput and quality objectives.
- Engineering Design Input: Contribute to equipment engineering design evaluations by providing hands‑on maintenance insights that improve serviceability, reliability, and long‑term performance.
- Operational Excellence Support: Drive disciplined maintenance practices that align with plant goals, support manufacturing schedules, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.

- Manufacturing & Controls Engineering Expertise: Apply strong manufacturing, controls engineering, and drawing interpretation knowledge to support equipment design, procurement, upgrades, and system integration that meet technical specifications and operational needs.
- Continuous Improvement & Process Standardization: Identify opportunities to improve processes through waste reduction and continuous improvement methodologies, while developing clear, standardized documentation to ensure consistency, quality, and long‑term sustainability.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or equivalent degree required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
Experience:
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Individual will have direct line reporting for Maintenance team and will be responsible for Maintenance performance during the off shift.
- Role will be based on 2nd/3rd shift.
