Within Metrology the Preventative Maintenance section is dedicated to a proactive approach to maintenance and load testing. Through best class practices we strive to increase productivity, reduce the number of costly unplanned repairs and improve asset reliability; ultimately extending the lifetime usage of Missile Systems resources, Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Government Customer Owned assets.
This position will be responsible for the planning and support required for load testing activities on Special Tooling and Material Handling Equipment at all Missile Systems locations. As a Load Testing subject matter expert, duties will include planning and scheduling load testing activities, supporting day to day activities of technicians and providing technical assistance as required.
What You Will Do
• Provide technical guidance to Metrology Technicians, Tooling Engineers, etc., as necessary
• Participate in critical, below the hook and material handling design review (concepts, designs or prints) prior to fabrication
• Input and extract data from the SAP/PRISM and cPDM/CREO databases
• Prepare the documents, requests and certifications related to Load Testing
• Coordinate the essential lifting equipment, weights and adequate location needed to satisfy the Load Testing requirements
• Supervise or conduct Load Testing with Metrology Technicians
• Send Load Test documents to the Tooling/Packaging engineer for entry into cPDM
• Track Load Tests performed
• Update Load Test procedures as needed
• Create preventative maintenance (PM) plans for Special Tooling
• Provide guidance to Tooling/Packaging Engineers on components requiring PM
• Understanding of the requirements for the maintenance of Special Tooling
• Basic understanding of Reliability Engineering and Predictive Maintenance
• Understanding of the requirements associated with Property Management of Government owned property
Qualifications You Must Have
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience with Tooling, Mechanism, Machine or Mechanical Automation Systems Design, Troubleshooting and/or Maintenance
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
• Ability to work well in a team setting and foster a good working relationship with both internal and external customers
• Ability to communicate effectively, articulate business goals, company policies, terms and conditions as well as opportunities and risks
• Proficient experience in Microsoft Office (ex. Excel, Power Point, Word, Project) applications
• Experience working with leaders, peers, customers and/or technicians
• Strong engineering aptitude and analytical skills
• Experience working in a fast paced environment.
• Experience utilizing maintenance scheduling software
• Experience with Tooling Design utilizing cPDM and CREO
• SAP/PRISM knowledge and proficiency
• Six Sigma training and/or experience
• Active DOD Security Clearance
