You as a Field Service Engineer HV will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in New Cairo, Egypt. This position providing GIS & AIS Installation and maintenance services to our utility, contractor for Middle east & Africa Countries. Service is the key to Success and as colleague in our globally operating Service Team you appreciate independent, diversified, and solution-oriented work and duties will include installation & commissioning of New GIS & AIS, maintenance services of GIS & AIS retrofit / replacement services.

Your responsibilities          

• Independently complete the GIS installation & commissioning and customer site training.
• Supporting field operations during commissioning to ensure systems are correctly installed and functional.
• Performing routine and preventive maintenance of high voltage equipment, particularly GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) and AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear) systems.
• Conducting testing and diagnostics to assess the condition of high voltage equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing faults in GIS and AIS equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring safety.
• Collaborating with the technical team to provide solutions for any operational issues.
• Preparing and maintaining detailed service reports, including inspection findings, performed maintenance, and recommendations for improvement.
• Communicating effectively with clients and internal teams to resolve technical queries and issues.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures during all site activities.
• Conducting risk assessments and implement safety measures in line with industry standards.
• Responsible for management of documents on site and feedback site information to company.

Your background            

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering field is required.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in GIS or High voltage is preferred.
• Certification in high voltage safety and electrical system testing would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, circuit diagrams and testing protocols.
• Ability to work across various domestic and international time zones when required
• Sector knowledge to include Utility, Transmission and Renewables sectors.
• Team player with the ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.
• Skillful Word, Excel, office software and network and communication ability with customer, focus on teamwork.
• Healthy and adapt to frequent business trips.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English and Arabic language is required.
