DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Assists Engineers in carrying out production-related and inspection jobs; assists in monitor materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; maintains and supports documentation and records. Works under moderate supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects. Conducts simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality). Records results and prepares simple technical reports. Provides product and component testing using a range of measurement equipment. Assists customers in understanding/interpreting product specifications and application of measurement data. Participates in measurement uncertainty studies for measurements associated with measurement or calibration results. Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of the measurement and test equipment.

Quality Process Management - Proficient application of quality tools and methods (e.g. APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Capability studies, Process Audit, inspection, test, etc.) to ensure quality of products, processes and services.

Laboratory Management - Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measure to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lead containment activities to protect the customer and production, including inspection, sorting, and verification of corrective actions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) activities by collecting data, documenting observations, and supporting corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track and report operational quality KPIs (e.g., scrap, defects, rework) and communicate trends or concerns to the plant team
  • Assist with non-conformance control, including identification, segregation, labeling, documentation, and disposition support for nonconforming material.
  • Understanding of dimensional analysis and GD&T principles
  • Communicate quality issues clearly and effectively to operators, supervisors, engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders across shifts.
  • Set up data collection like tally sheets, trackers on the line to collect and analyze relevant data.
  • Demonstrate and promote a quality mindset by identifying risks, raising concerns, and reinforcing adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Assist in training and coaching operators on quality fundamentals, inspection requirements, and standard work expectations.
  • Support internal and external audit activities
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint
  • Support additional activities as assigned by the Quality Engineer
