In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office.

The Digital Trading & Investing Team manages the trading, investing, & research experiences for self-directed platforms (E*TRADE, MSO & Power E*TRADE). Responsible for the E*TRADE retail education team as well as financial products including equities, options, futures, fixed income & more. The team serves all self-directed clients, from highly sophisticated traders to long-term investors.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Backend Roadmap Ownership:
    • Own the backend product roadmap in alignment with the overall product strategy and company goals.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define user stories, and prioritize features around business priorities.
    • Work with various stakeholders through the agile framework to fix existing issues and/or bring new initiatives to light
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Understand the intricacies of backend technologies, databases, APIs, and other infrastructure components.
    • Work closely with engineering teams to translate technical requirements into actionable tasks.
    • Provide product support to research and resolve complex issues.
  • Performance and Scalability:
    • Work with technology partners to ensure backend systems are scalable, reliable, and meet performance expectations.
    • Work with the scrum team to monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize backend processes.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Work with the risk and engineering teams to implement security best practices for data protection, authentication, and authorization.
    • Stay informed about industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
    • Communicate effectively with developers, QA, project management, designers, and other stakeholders.


Skills Required:

  • Experience: 2-5 yrs previous experience as a product manager or equivalent role, with a focus on backend systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Technical Background: 2+ yrs working with backend technologies, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and work with the scrum team to propose effective solutions.
  • Agile Mindset: Comfortable working in an agile development environment.

Salary range for the position: $85,000 and $140,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
