DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Operates machines and production equipment safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment, in accordance with quality, productivity, and delivery requirements. Works with limited guidance while ensuring adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, quality procedures, and continuous improvement practices.

Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Stop work and immediately report major injury hazards.
  • Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, and hazards.
  • Comply with all HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Promote an interdependent safety culture by looking out for one another.
  • Correct hazards within individual control and capability.
  • Recognize environmental impacts of work activities and take actions to minimize negative impact.
  • Actively participate in HSE training and initiatives.

Quality

  • Follow standard work instructions, process documentation, and quality procedures including SPC, poka-yoke, and visual standards.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
  • Identify, segregate, and control non-conforming material.
  • Raise quality issues to minimize cost and quality exposure.
  • Support improvements to Right First Time (RFT) and reduce rejections.

Delivery & Operations

  • Operate manual and automated machines to manufacture and assemble products meeting customer specifications.
  • Achieve daily production goals while meeting required cycle times and engineering standards.
  • Maintain high competency in assigned machines and processes.
  • Ensure clean, safe, and organized work areas through regular housekeeping and 5S practices.
  • Perform planned operator care, basic preventive maintenance, and machine cleaning.
  • Support bottleneck machines to ensure continuous operation during break times.
  • Remain flexible to perform additional tasks as required to meet production demands.
  • Collaborate with peers, skilled trades, and support functions to identify and address equipment issues.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional support teams.
  • Complete required training and personal development aligned with business needs.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as FIFI, Q-Pro, Kaizen, and OEE improvement activities.
  • Improve skills on machines and support process and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Support other lines or functions as per business requirements.
  • Follow instructions and tasks assigned by Team Leader or Manager.
  • Adhere to shift start/end timings, break schedules, and planned leave management to avoid equipment downtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Diploma in Engineering (preferred).

Licenses / Certifications

  • May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in machining processes.
  • Hands-on experience with machining processes such as Grinding, EDM, AFM, SPM, etc.
  • Preferred experience on precision machines including grinding, turning, and similar operations.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge with troubleshooting skills to address minor equipment issues.
  • Ability to work in a 3-shift rotational environment.
