We’re seeking someone to join our team as Vice President in Ops Risk & Regulatory Control to perform Operations Data Strategy activities, and to drive and deliver the Operations data strategy across Asia, enabling transformation, strengthening controls, reducing risk, and accelerating the adoption of automation and AI initiatives, to play a key role in transform how Morgan Stanley Operates.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Vice President level position within the Change, Analytics & Strategy, which is responsible for developing operating and technology strategies, managing and executing transformation initiatives, leading Agile fleet activities, driving innovation, developing analytics solutions and delivering business outcomes.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Experience delivering multi-silo initiatives that improved controls, reduced risk, and enabled automation/AI at scale.
  • Set the regional vision and roadmap for Operations data strategy; align priorities with global objectives and budget.
  • Define and maintain governance frameworks; ensure certified, authoritative data underpins regulatory and risk reporting.
  • Own the regional Opportunities Backlog: surface high-value data opportunities, quantify benefits, and drive prioritization across silos.
  • Champion automation and AI use-cases by ensuring data quality, lineage, and access patterns support scalable delivery.
  • Lead senior engagement with Silo Data Leads, RTech, Transformation, and ORRC Data Strategy to remove blockers and replicate solutions.
  • Role-model data culture: sponsor training (e.g., Data Academy), communications, and adoption of tools (DataZone, Collibra, MS Maps, Snowflake).
  • Expert: Risk Management & Control; Business Knowledge & Expertise; Transformation; Strategic Thinking & Vision; Leadership & Management.
  • Advanced to Expert: Analysis, Problem Solving & Judgement; Communication; Financial Performance & Commercial Focus.      
  • Oversee complex process management and change efforts, developing and implementing business plan and strategic vision for a group of specialists or varied specialist functions within allocated budget.
  • Address highly complex or time sensitive business matters, leveraging relationships across functional groups to define and deliver solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects/products simultaneously with accountability for risks associated with delivery and execution of the project/program, engaging with internal and / or external stakeholders in the decision-making process and managing relationships with partners across the organization.                                                                                  

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience leading transformation portfolios and data modernization at scale.
  • Fluency with data platforms and governance tools (e.g., Snowflake, Collibra, DataZone); strong partnership with Technology (RTech).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influence across senior audiences; clear, concise communication.
  • Ability to convert strategy into executable plans with measurable outcomes and robust controls.
  • Broad understanding across multiple processes, systems and markets in addition to detailed subject matter expertise of various key products/processes.
  • Role model that advocates for your team, motivates and engages staff to achieve vision and inspire respect; supports and promotes the Firm’s vision and values.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, architecture, and regulatory reporting for complex, global environments.
  • At least 12 years of relevant experience in data management and/or operational risk within financial services, with demonstrable regional or global leadership. would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
