Mortgage Consultant Supervisor

Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (“MSPBNA”), as part of Wealth Management, offers banking and credit products and services, including securities-based lending, mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit primarily to Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s high net worth clients.
MSPBNA Home Loans is seeking an experienced mortgage lending professional for the position of Mortgage Consultant Supervisor. The individual will report to a Regional Mortgage Consultant Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a regional team of Mortgage Consultants who will be working with prospective borrowers to provide mortgage pricing and take applications.
- Responsible for daily performance and productivity of direct reports.
- Identify operational inefficiencies that arise as part of the team dynamic and suggest process improvements.
- Balance workload and scheduling for direct reports.
- Act as the escalation point for issues involving Private Bankers and Financial Advisors.
- Oversee lead management for pipeline of new loan referrals.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
- Partner with Complex Directors and Branch Managers within the region to build relationships and drive business to the region.
- Assist Regional Manager with onboarding new employees, schedule oversight and escalations.
- Support Regional Manager, as needed, when out of office.
- Participate in leadership coverage routines, including but not limited to, scheduling oversight, regional strategy discussions, production goals, talent planning and field partnership/relationship building.
- Work as part of a regional team to support mortgage loans from Wealth Management complexes/branches.
- Assist in the design and development of fulfillment operations, documenting procedures, testing, training, and recruitment efforts.
- Participate in initiatives to improve the client, Financial Advisor and Private Banker experience.
Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 4-8 years of mortgage experience (Operations and/or Sales).
- 1-2 years leadership experience
- Strong understanding and knowledge of call center operations and best practices.
- Deep knowledge of mortgage products and non-conforming credit guidelines.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi-task; balancing communications, scheduling oversight, and client escalations.
- Expert level knowledge of credit/underwriting guidelines and providing comprehensive reviews and recommendations regarding credit risk and loan scenarios. Including the ability to recognize, document and submit detailed information on complex conditional pre-approval scenarios to a Regional Underwriting Manager, when applicable.
- Established track record of developing and maintaining High Net Worth relationships in a Sales or Operational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the laws and regulation that govern consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, RESPA, and TRID.
- Eligible for employment with an FDIC-insured institution and able to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (“NMLS”) as a mortgage loan originator.
