This highly impactful, cross-functional role will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure Beam is a place where values-aligned talent is attracted, empowered, and retained.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute Beam’s holistic people strategy, aligned with company goals, values, and growth stage
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, talent planning, and change management
  • Own the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring every team member feels connected, valued, and supported
  • Design and run performance management, feedback, and career development systems to help individuals grow and the organization scale effectively
  • Coach managers to become great leaders and support learning & development initiatives across all levels
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and HR compliance; partner with Finance on headcount planning and budgeting
  • Select and manage people systems (e.g., HRIS, payroll, performance tools) to support efficiency and scalability

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have 6+ years of experience in People/HR roles, with 3+ years in a leadership or strategic HRBP capacity at a fast-growing startup or mission-driven organization
  • Have a proven track record building or scaling people functions across recruiting, performance, engagement, and culture
  • Have experience designing equitable compensation, leveling frameworks, and growth pathways
  • Possess strong knowledge of HR compliance, labor laws, and best practices for remote or hybrid teams
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and a high EQ
  • Are passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion, and building cultures where everyone can thrive
  • Have strong project management skills and a bias toward action
  • Take a thoughtful, human-first approach—believing the best teams are built on trust, clarity, and compassion
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Total Compensation

Total cash compensation for this role is $165,000 - $178,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus at on-target earnings, partial 401k match, and stock options.

Additional benefits include:

  • Unlimited PTO, with a minimum of two weeks required per year
  • Choice of Medical, Dental, and Vision Aetna plans, including some fully covered options, plus a $100 monthly wellness stipend
  • Paid parental leave: twelve weeks of fully paid leave after six months of full-time employment
  • $750 annual professional development stipend for conferences, books, courses, and more
  • Regular team events and volunteering, including virtual options
  • Travel and hotel covered for on-sites 1-2x per year for team-building in NYC
  • $1,000 referral bonuses for every new team member you refer
  • Remote-first work environment with the option to work from the NYC HQ

You will report to Beam’s CEO.
