Beam is seeking a Director of People to architect and champion our people strategy, building the infrastructure, policies, and culture that enable our team to thrive as we scale. This highly impactful, cross-functional role works closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure Beam attracts, empowers, and retains values-aligned talent.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute Beam’s holistic people strategy, aligned with company goals, values, and growth stage
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, talent planning, and change management
  • Own the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring every team member feels connected, valued, and supported
  • Design and run performance management, feedback, and career development systems to help individuals grow and the organization scale effectively
  • Coach managers to become great leaders and support learning & development initiatives across all levels
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and HR compliance; partner with Finance on headcount planning and budgeting
  • Select and manage people systems (e.g., HRIS, payroll, performance tools) to support efficiency and scalability

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Have 6+ years of experience in People/HR roles, with 3+ years in a leadership or strategic HRBP capacity at a fast-growing startup or mission-driven organization
  • Have a proven track record building or scaling people functions across recruiting, performance, engagement, and culture
  • Have experience designing equitable compensation, leveling frameworks, and growth pathways
  • Possess strong knowledge of HR compliance, labor laws, and best practices for remote or hybrid teams
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and a high EQ
  • Are passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion, and building cultures where everyone can thrive
  • Have strong project management skills and a bias toward action
  • Take a thoughtful, human-first approach—believing the best teams are built on trust, clarity, and compassion
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Total Compensation

The projected annual salary range is $165,000 - $178,000 USD.
