Role Overview

The role involves quantitative analysis, programming, and direct interaction with the trading desk to deliver scalable tooling and analytics to support trading within the Credit Special Situations Group (SSG) business. You will be partnering with traders, technology, and other stakeholders to drive innovation in risk, pricing and analytics which directly impact trading decisions. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong technical foundations and keen interest in financing markets within credit.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quantitative tooling and analytics to support the SSG trading business.
  • Automate desk processes and streamline data workflows using Python and KDB.
  • Work closely with traders to enhance real-time decision support, provide custom solutions and scalable analytics.
  • Collaborate with strats, tech and other functions to drive innovation and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills in Python (or similar); experience with KDB/SQL and comfortable with data handling.
  • Proactive problem-solver with attention to detail and strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and rigorously with highly complex datasets and systems.
  • Basic understanding of financial markets and interest in Credit within fixed income.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Advanced degree (PhD, Masters or equivalent) in quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science and engineering.
