Backend Developer - Director - Software Engineering

We’re seeking someone to join our Institutional Securities Technology team as a Backend developer (Java), in FICFX, involved in Design & Development of real-time platform that requires fast calculations.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities.

This is Director position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What you’ll do in the role:

• Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.

• Working with the development teams, business analysts and end users to come up with optimal, high-impact solutions

• Contributing to design ideas

• Developing optimal solutions with focus on quality

What you’ll bring to the role:

• At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.

• Advanced understanding of business line and discipline with some knowledge of competitive environment and other disciplines.

• Strong server-side Java

• Strong knowledge of Spring framework, Strong in Unix / Linux & SQL.

• Strong Interpersonal skills / good verbal & written skills required to interact with global teams.

• Highly motivated, analytical thinking individual, who is looking to contribute to design and strategic direction

• Ability to support distributed systems in a highly complex, high-urgency environment

• Ability to manage tasks and plan deliverables in a structured manner.

• Ability to switch between technologies while both supporting legacy systems and building new systems.
