Position Overview:
This position is responsible for growing Freddie Mac’s sphere of influence with sellers in a geographic region through broadening and deepening of relationships with key decision-makers. This role is also responsible for understanding the seller’s strategies and goals and identifying ways to maximize business sourcing opportunities and profitability of the relationships including related strategies and priorities.
The incumbent provides leadership and direction to a regionally dispersed team, including establishing goals, strategies, tactics and incentives to support corporate and divisional business objectives. The Sr. Director ensures that resources deliver valuable, competitively priced products and services that meet sellers’ business strategies and objectives, while ensuring Freddie Mac achieves its goals.
Internally, this position will regularly interact with senior level management on matters concerning business strategies and the market outlook. The Seller Engagement team directly supports the Freddie Mac Single-Family Acquisitions effort to deliver on our mission through engagement with sellers with products and tools that support the expansion of equitable and sustainable homeownership.
Your Impact:
- Establish strategic direction and vision for the region
- Ensure a high caliber of customer service is provided at optimum cost/benefit levels given complex and varying client needs and Pod goals
- Implement key corporate initiatives through sellers – such as the integration of operational systems into the business systems of all targeted sellers within agreed upon time frames
- Ensure that strategies and tactics are consistent with the company’s overall strategy and are performed across assigned seller base
- Ensure that the regional team (Pod) is focused on all sellers with clear strategies that balance the seller strategy with the Freddie Mac objectives.
- Attract, train, and retain the highest quality and qualified team members skilled in broadening seller relationships, providing consultative services, and growing Freddie Mac’s sphere of influence
- Provide the primary source of market intelligence and seller business perspective within Freddie Mac for the region that results in informed decision-making and a directed drive for business results:
- Develop effective strategies for all account types
- Maintain a strong market presence and work with sellers to provide value- added business solutions that broaden Freddie Mac’s business relationships across the industry
- Champion the seller’s position in a responsible manner with regard to internal discussions on business strategies and tactics
- Ensure that seller happiness with our products and services is enhanced through continued responsiveness to meeting their needs
- Understand implications of broad market trends and competitive developments from all the sellers’ viewpoints
- Understand the credit quality of sellers and loans they generate
- Lead and coordinate the company’s continuous market presence and relationship management efforts for the region:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with executives of our sellers
- Act as an industry leader and Freddie Mac executive management representative at a variety of industry conferences
- Serve as spokesperson for Freddie Mac in the media, at industry events and forums, and with community groups. Ensure coordination with other Officers that may be involved in the same events
- Manage day-to-day activities of the regional team, including mentorship, perspective and direction on the strategic vision
- Validate, review and enact on daily reporting of seller activity, ensuring Freddie Mac’s goals and objectives are being met
- Represent primary voice of the customer that is utilized to influence internal strategy, corporate decisions and direction
- Lead change, leverage vision, industry knowledge and market perspective
- Serve as critical escalation point for matters to be resolved at Pod level, raise concerns to the VP or above, appropriately and timely
- Focus the internal resources to help accomplish the larger business model and vision statements
- Accountable for team’s achievement of overall Pod’s goals related to mission, market share, ROE, credit risk, technology, etc.
Qualifications:
- 10-plus years of experience in the mortgage industry, including primary and secondary market experience
- 5-plus years of experience leading and managing a client relationship team
- 5-plus related experience with significant leadership/people management

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $164,000 - $246,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
