The team cover the analysis of ABS and RMBS transactions in EMEA, developing relationships with market players, contributing to research and publications, and representing S&P Global Ratings at market events. Reporting to the Structured Finance Analytical Manager, the role involves close collaboration with highly experienced industry experts, with an important focus on market dynamics.

The successful applicant will enhance our ability to serve clients efficiently and effectively, demonstrating analytical excellence and the capacity to provide relevant, insightful, and compelling analysis. Responsibilities include aiding in the analysis for the EMEA’s ABS & RMBS team.
In your role you will assist senior analysts in conducting credit and financial analysis, reviewing, researching, and managing data and transaction documents, running credit models, analysing cash flows, and preparing analytical documentation. You will be expected to provide analytical reasoning in committees and discussion within the team, and to act proactively toward resolution of issues, and be knowledgeable on the appropriate criteria. You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the industry trends and issues. As new asset classes evolve, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different proposals. Effective communication is crucial.

Responsibilities:
- Support and assist senior analysts in updating reports and preparing for meetings and internal credit committees.
- Conduct analyses on Structured Finance transactions: reviewing data and documentation, running related credit and cash-flow models, identifying, and measuring appropriate risk factors, and presenting outcomes in front of a rating committee.
- Acting proactively in ratings committees and in the team
- Work closely with senior analysts to provide research and analysis for the Structured Finance team.
- Understand and implement S&P’s Policies and SOPs
- Take the lead on special projects within the Structured Finance team as appropriate.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related subject.
- Have completed, or currently pursuing post graduate studies / the CFA would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
- A S&P employee at this level would typically have 3 or more years of analytical work experience in ABS RMBS or in the financial services industry. We are happy to consider candidates of lesser experience for a Rating Analyst level.
- Advanced skills in using cash-flow and credit models will be a distinct advantage.
- Ability to quickly absorb, analyse, and act upon information, while demonstrating strong proficiency with figures, accuracy and be detail-oriented while complying with deadlines
- Strong team player, with the ability to work in a deal-driven, collaborative and multicultural work environment is critical.
- Must have ability to think independently and critically and have an eye for innovation opportunities.
- Strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills
- Fluent in English and German; proficiency in any other EMEA language is an advantage.
