Senior iOS App Developer

Mental Canvas is seeking a Senior iOS App Developer with 5+ years of experience developing apps focused on rich, interactive user experiences. You will work on all phases of design and implementation for an enhanced version of Mental Canvas Draw, our iPadOS app, featuring new AI-based tools for creating and sharing interactive web scenes.

Responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain complex interactive 3D and 2D UI applications for iOS
• Work with real-time 3D graphics and shader-based APIs such as Metal or OpenGL ES
• Utilize Objective-C, UIKit, and Swift for app development
• Collaborate on cross-platform C++ codebases
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices through code and architecture reviews
• Manage release processes and run agile sprint planning
• Communicate effectively with business partners and non-technical team members
• Contribute to visual design and ensure high levels of detail and polish
• Prototype new 3D UX interactions and explore new Apple UI technologies

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Have shipped multiple consumer-facing production applications in the Apple App Store
• Possess strong experience with real-time 3D graphics and shader-based APIs
• Are skilled in Objective-C, UIKit, Swift, and cross-platform C++
• Have experience mentoring engineers and leading agile processes
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with ambitious goals
• Have a good sense of visual design and attention to detail

Bonus points for:

• Experience with SwiftUI and Microsoft WinUI/XAML frameworks
• Experience developing MacOS desktop applications
• Experience prototyping new 3D UX interactions

Total Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications and includes base salary, a full benefits package, and stock options.

Additional details:

• Full-time, remote position
• Must be located in the US and able to work on East Coast time
