Sr Software Engineer

Barn2Door is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help us build and support next-generation products and services for Farmers. You will play a critical role in architecting, designing, developing, and testing solutions, while mentoring others and driving technical innovation and quality.

Responsibilities will include:

• Create high-quality, maintainable, and performant code, mentoring others to do the same
• Advocate for the customer perspective and experience in all development work
• Coach team members through code reviews, testing, and documentation
• Stay current with and adapt to new technologies, tools, and processes
• Optimize our platform for performance, maintainability, usability, and scalability
• Collaborate with product owners to define scope for upcoming releases
• Build and improve testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies
• Engage in self-driven learning and team problem-solving
• Participate in the full product lifecycle: design, development, code reviews, patent creation, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance

You have:

• BS in Computer Science or a comparable degree
• 6+ years of experience in full stack development using an object-oriented language
• 2+ years of experience building responsive UIs with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• 3+ years leading technical design and implementation of scalable systems
• 3+ years mentoring developers and driving engineering maturity
• Experience maintaining and updating large codebases
• Strong understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and asynchronous concepts
• Experience optimizing queries, using caching, sharding databases, etc.
• Experience with performance, security, privacy, accessibility, or localization testing
• Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
• Experience with Node.js, React, AWS, Terraform
• Bonus experience: Stripe, Redis, Postgres, large-scale data analytics, failure analysis

Total Compensation

Annual salary DOE plus stock options.
