Job Description:
Job Title: DevOps Architect Role Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Architect to lead and architect the infrastructure for large-scale, distributed applications. The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and must excel in system design, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and advanced networking. You will drive the overall strategy for DevOps, automation, and architecture while working closely with cross-functional teams across product development, security, and network engineering.
Key Responsibilities:- Architect and Design: Design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized infrastructure for large applications in alignment with industry best practices and cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-On Cloud Management: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud environments, specifically using AWS services like EKS, ECS, and Lambda, with a focus on Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- CI/CD Pipelines Development: Build and automate CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable application deployment. Integrate security and compliance checks into the pipelines.
- Advanced Networking & Hybrid Systems: Architect and troubleshoot complex cloud and hybrid networking setups, including VPCs, VPNs, Direct Connect, and advanced routing/switching across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams (Network Engineering, Cloud, Security, Data Center) to define and implement the overall infrastructure and application architecture strategy. Collaborate with product development teams distributed across multiple geographic locations.
- DevOps Best Practices: Establish and enforce standards and best practices in DevOps, infrastructure automation, and system security, ensuring continuous monitoring and incident response automation.
- Automation & Monitoring: Lead efforts to automate infrastructure, operations, and security monitoring, utilizing modern tools, scripts, and frameworks to reduce manual intervention and enhance system performance.
- Security & Compliance: Build secure continuous deployment pipelines, integrating cloud-native security tools and practices, and ensure continuous security compliance monitoring across the infrastructure.
- Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Serve as a technical lead for troubleshooting critical issues related to infrastructure, networks, and service performance.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Demonstrate leadership through mentorship and by driving initiatives that enhance the DevOps maturity of the organization. Take ownership of the success of the team and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Hands-On Experience: Proven experience with AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, and building large-scale cloud environments. Strong ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and work with hybrid and multi-cloud systems.
- Infrastructure Design: Strong track record in designing infrastructure for large-scale applications with a focus on cost optimization, performance, and reliability.
- CI/CD & Automation: Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, etc. Strong experience with automating infrastructure management using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Cloud Networking: Advanced understanding of cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing, VPNs, Direct Connect, and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- DevOps Best Practices: In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles, microservices architecture, and containerized deployments.
- Security Automation: Experience building secure CI/CD pipelines, automating security monitoring and compliance processes within cloud infrastructures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with diverse teams including engineering, network, and security teams to align on architectural strategies.
- Leadership & Ownership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior engineers, and take ownership of the technical direction and execution of the DevOps strategy.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer preferred.
- Strong programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, etc.) for automation tasks.
- Experience with hybrid cloud deployments and managing on-premises and cloud resources.
- Expertise in monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) methodologies.
