The Sonos Compliance Engineering team is tasked with the challenge of evaluating the compliance of our products. We are responsible for all new product designs and ongoing Compliance of products in mass production.
Challenges include: supporting alternate part design evaluations, updating EMC, Safety and Radio certification reports, and performing a wide range of Compliance tests.
The Compliance Engineer is responsible for making sure that Sonos products meet all regulatory design and test requirements. The right candidate will have experience with communication, documentation and management of a variety of compliance engineering tasks. Responsibilities:
Ownership of regulatory Compliance homologation and sustaining testing projects for Sonos.
Work with third parties to achieve Compliance for Sonos products.
Perform regulatory compliance tests for safety, EMC and RF pre-test and certification.
Analyze design changes, test data and document the results.
Prepare regulatory documents and submit filings to obtain certifications from regulatory bodies to regulatory agencies to resolve Compliance issues.
The Ideal Candidate:
2-5 years as a Compliance Engineer with a background in product development, review of design changes and technical regulatory compliance.
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Material Science, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficient English skills required for both written and verbal with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Electrical engineer with suitable experience, such as experience working different wireless communication systems such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc.
Experience with relevant electronic test equipment, test automation and calibration.
Experience in test setup with signal analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer, anechoic chambers, conducted and OTA chambers.
Experience with EMC designs; Safety engineering, and RF test and certification.
Experience working with third parties to accomplish outsourced work. Technical problem-solving and analytical skills. Understanding TCP/IP Networking and Computers. Working Experience with regulatory requirements and certification process for wireless consumer devices, such as FCC, ISED, ETSI, MIC, NCC, CMIIT.
Experience on environmental compliance and energy efficiency, such as RoHS, REACH, WEEE, idle power measurement…
Experience with consumer products.
Ability to work in multi-functional teams across multiple time zones.
