Requires use of painting equipment with responsibilities including masking and unmasking parts for painting and hanging parts in preparing for painting and/or powder coat.
What You Will Do:
- Surface Preparation and Painting: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, masking, and sanding; apply paint using an HVLP spray gun; adjust paint gun for maximum transfer efficiency and train others.
- Equipment Maintenance and Specifications: Clean and maintain spray equipment; ensure manometers, filters, ovens, and other equipment meet specifications; understand spray patterns, angles, and distances.
- Documentation and Quality Assurance: Accurately complete required documentation; maintain quality product standards with no defects; report progress and any quality issues to lead or supervisor.
- Safety and Compliance: Handle hazardous chemicals in accordance with federal and state laws; comply with quality system requirements; participate in audits and continuous improvement plans.
- Work Environment and Skills Development: Maintain a clean and orderly work area; participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives; acquire necessary skills, knowledge, and certifications as required.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional tasks within the scope of the job description to support departmental objectives; check work methods and results for compliance with standards; assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Must Have:
A high school diploma or GED. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Prior aerospace or automotive spray gun painting experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:
Prior manufacturing experience
Prior experience with shop primers, industrial enamel, zinc, and polyurethane.
Prior experience with reading paint specs.
