- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
- 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience with Colab.
- Experience with reinforcement learning.
- Experience with LLM fine-tuning, distillation, prompt engineering and advanced prompting techniques.
- Experience advancing machine learning models and research.
- Experience with Android and Chrome codebases.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Build leading-edge emerging AI capabilities and technologies partnering with research teams in Google DeepMind and Google Research and product teams across P&D (Chrome, Pixel, Android) to develop novel user experiences.
- Improve Google's Gemini models, Data processing, Fine-tuning, Reinforcement Learning, evaluation, safety and security.
