Become part of the team responsible for developing the core infrastructure that drives Autodesk's cloud services. You will be working on CloudOS, our cutting-edge Continuous Deployment (CD) platform, which is widely utilized by our internal cloud engineering teams. As a crucial element of the Platform Services and Emerging Technologies team, CloudOS streamlines and standardises the provisioning and management of front-end, back-end, and infrastructure components across multiple global regions. CloudOS harnesses the power and flexibility of industry-standard open-source tools, enabling the rapid delivery of new platform capabilities while benefiting from the contributions of the global developer community. This modern approach allows for increased agility and the replacement of outdated, less flexible internal deployment systems.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Platform Engineer to join the CloudOS team. In this role, you will contribute to designing, building, operating, and improving the CloudOS platform. You will work closely with internal engineering teams to understand their deployment requirements, support platform functionality, help maintain reliability, and assist in driving adoption across Autodesk. If you are eager to learn how to build resilient developer platforms, automate workflows, and work with public cloud services using containers like ECS and EKS, this position is an excellent opportunity. While we primarily use AWS, you will also gain exposure to workloads running on Azure and GCP.
This is a hybrid role which requires few days per week working from Bengaluru office.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, deploy, test, maintain, and enhance features and functionality of the CloudOS platform
Help in managing the infrastructure supporting CloudOS, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and cost optimization using technologies like Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and GCP
Help with configuring and maintaining CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Spinnaker under guidance from senior team members.
Contribute to writing and updating automation scripts for provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks using scripting languages and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
Work with internal engineering teams to understand their basic CI/CD requirements, provide first-level support, and assist in troubleshooting common issues while learning best practices for using CloudOS.
Support the setup, tuning, and maintenance of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to help ensure platform health and visibility
Contribute to creating and updating documentation, runbooks, and internal knowledge-sharing materials.
Learn and stay informed about emerging trends in CI/CD, cloud-native tools, DevOps practices, and platform engineering.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for the CloudOS platform
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in platform development or a similar role.
2+ years of hands-on software development experience in Python or Java or .NET
Proficiency in serverless computing services such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
Hands-on experience with virtual machine services like AWS EC2 and Azure Virtual Machines.
Familiarity with container orchestration services such as AWS ECS, Azure Container Instances (ACI), and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) principles and tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performance platform solutions.
Experience implementing unit and integration tests.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience managing, configuring, or extending CI/CD Pipelines
Experience contributing to open-source projects, particularly related to cloud-native or CI/CD tooling
Strong AWS expertise
Good understanding in Kubernetes operations and management
Experience building and supporting internal developer platforms or tools.
Familiarity with multi-region cloud application architectures and deployment strategies
