Job Description

The Senior Manager of AI Commerce Strategy & Partnerships will lead Visa's strategic positioning, go-to-market approach, and senior partnership development in the rapidly emerging AI commerce space. This role is for someone who can map a fast-moving ecosystem — identify where value is accruing, who the key players are, and what the right bets look like — and translate that thinking into clear strategy, compelling narratives, and commercial outcomes.

You will develop deep expertise across AI platforms, agent infrastructure, emerging payment protocols, and developer ecosystems. You will shape Visa's external positioning in AI commerce, inform product roadmaps and investment decisions, and lead senior engagement with the most important companies defining how AI-native commerce works.

This is an opportunity to join Visa's newly created Global Growth Products and Partnerships team, which leads the rollout and commercialization of industry-leading innovation products with strategic partners. The team operates at the frontier of payments and AI — running a developer lab, prototyping agent payment flows, and building partnerships with the companies shaping the future of autonomous commerce.

The ideal candidate brings sharp strategic instincts, genuine curiosity about AI and developer ecosystems, and a track record of producing original thinking in complex, fast-moving markets. You understand how technology platforms compete, how developer ecosystems develop, and how to build a clear point of view when the landscape is changing fast.

Key Responsibilities

**Ecosystem Strategy & Go-to-Market: **
- Develop and own Visa's strategic map of the AI commerce ecosystem — platforms, infrastructure layers, protocols, key players, and emerging standards
- Build the frameworks and theses that guide Visa's partnership priorities, product investments, and commercial positioning in AI commerce
- Lead go-to-market planning for new AI commerce initiatives, working across product, sales, legal, and regional teams to drive execution
- Track competitive dynamics across AI companies, developer platforms, and emerging payment protocols; translate intelligence into actionable recommendations
- Own Visa's point of view on where AI commerce is heading and what it means for payments

**Partnership Development: **
- Lead senior-level commercial engagement with AI companies, developer platforms, and ecosystem infrastructure builders
- Structure and execute high-value partnership agreements, including non-traditional deal structures, pilots, and joint go-to-market arrangements
- Develop partner-facing strategic narratives and executive materials that articulate Visa's value proposition in the AI commerce space
- Drive Visa's engagement with AI marketplaces and platforms with a focus on monetization models, trust frameworks, and agent identity

**Thought Leadership: **
- Serve as a primary voice for Visa's AI commerce strategy internally and externally — at conferences, in industry forums, and in executive conversations
- Provide market, partner, and ecosystem feedback to Visa product teams to inform roadmap development and prioritization
- Lead evaluation of strategic partnerships and investments in AI startups and foundational technologies that enable scalable AI commerce

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more years with an Advanced Degree
- Background in strategy consulting, venture capital, or a strategic role at a technology platform, developer-focused company, or AI company
- Deep familiarity with the AI and developer ecosystem — you follow it closely, have strong opinions, and can hold your own in technical conversations
- Track record of producing original strategic thinking: market maps, competitive frameworks, investment theses — not just synthesizing existing analysis
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex ideas into sharp, compelling narratives for executive and external audiences
- Proven ability to lead senior commercial discussions and close non-standard partnerships in fast-moving environments
- A self-starter who creates structure in ambiguous environments and drives outcomes with limited direction
- Experience building and presenting executive-level communications to C-suite and senior stakeholders
