- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience creating technical content for a technical audience.
- 2 years of experience with HTML or Markdown.
Preferred qualifications:
- Understanding of Google style guidelines.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, support multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.

- Work closely with Product Managers, and Engineering Leads to identify the critical user journeys and create information architectures that help customers through those journeys.
- Write technical documentation for security analysts including new features, how-to guides, Release Notes and reference docs.
- Rewrite and reorganize existing documentation to improve the customer experience.
- Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others on the team to match the Google style guidelines.
- Manage complex documentation projects, and take responsibility for the quality of your documentation.
