A DAY IN THE LIFE:
At Tandem, our Production Operations Site Reliability team focuses on improving the patient pump user experience by improving production system stability, capturing site and services usage telemetry, and evaluating production scalability and stability. This role will collaborate with the Software Development organization in deploying, observing Tandem’s digital patient management platform running in a multi cloud systems and clusters.
- Manages Kubernetes clusters in a high traffic environment running multiple services.
- Observes, stabilizes, and secures Kubernetes clusters in a cloud platform.
- Deploys production Infrastructure using Terraform and collaborates with our Infrastructure engineering team.
- Works with Software Engineers to understand service functionality, review code, and infrastructure dependencies.
- Generates reports regarding service metrics on performance, availability, and reliability.
- Champions practices regarding change control management and incident response with on-call rotation.
- Automates production tasks with runbooks using Python, Shell or similar.
- Deploys micro services in production cloud systems, primarily in Azure or similar.
- Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other Regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- B.S. in computer science or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
- Deep technical knowledge of the following tools and environments:
- Azure or similar Cloud, Cloud Networking, Cloud Production management.
- Containers Platform – Kubernetes, Kubernetes Ingress, Docker.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes objects, deployments, auto scaling.
- Observability of systems for monitoring, alerting, and metrics reporting
- CI/CD tools such as Harness, Github Actions, or similar.
- Proficient in at least one object-oriented language, .Net (preferred), NodeJS
- Ability to read microservices code to understand functionalities and cloud integrations.
- Deep cloud troubleshooting experience using production log analytics and metrices.

- Proficient in at least one object-oriented language, .Net (preferred), NodeJS

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base pay range for this position is $130K - $150K annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
