Morgan Stanley Derivatives Clearing Strategy & Product VP/ED

As a part of Prime Brokerage, Morgan Stanley’s industry-leading Derivatives Clearing team manages the clearing of Futures, Options, and Over-the-Counter (OTC) Swaps at Clearing Houses globally. Derivatives Clearing services are utilized by a variety of institutional client types leveraging both speculative and hedging strategies across a wide range of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, FX, and commodities. Our team works directly with clients to ensure an optimal client experience and product offering, providing clients with access to the markets and information necessary to further enhance their portfolios. The qualified candidate will be working closely with a team of professionals in the business unit on day-to-day strategy and product management. Candidate will participate in project work to analyze client and industry trends, enhance daily processes, and support a variety of strategic initiatives.

Principal Duties:

  • Drive strategic initiatives to improve the business with focus on global consistency
  • Oversee projects to ensure Derivatives Clearing product offering remains competitive
  • Represent the Business Unit on regulatory changes and system improvements 
  • Manage relationships with third parties including exchanges, clearing houses and vendors

Education / Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel
  • Prior clearing experience required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and present updates to senior stakeholders
  • Quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team-player and collaborator, enthusiastic, motivated
  • Ability to work autonomously; self-starter

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
