We are on the look out for a Senior Big Data Engineer to join our team! What you'll do:
Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and data infrastructure using Airflow, Python, and SQL.
Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable ETL processes for large datasets.
Lead the development of new cloud-based solutions
Help develop the company’s analytics infrastructure.
Develop data models that support business reporting and analytics needs.
Optimize database performance and ensure data security and privacy.
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to our data pipelines and infrastructure.
Work with the head of the department on designing and implementing data pipelines and data models that handle player data, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and privacy.
Participate in the training of junior data engineers and data analysts.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of Airflow, Python, and SQL.
Object-oriented programming and high-level programming skills.
Advanced knowledge of distributed data processing frameworks, including Kafka.
Strong understanding of data modelling and database design principles.
Solid experience & knowledge on data architecture principles (including NoSQL).
Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS).
AWS certifications are a plus.
Knowledge of SaaS platforms and architectures.
Knowledge of CI/CD principles is considered a plus.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with data analytics and reporting tools, such as PowerBI.
Knowledge of DAX.
Familiarity with SSAS/SSIS.
Familiarity with data engineering frameworks and libraries.
GDPR guidelines knowledge are considered a significant asset.
Interpersonal skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines and deliver results.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering.
